Renting a Car in Hyderabad to Visit Nanded

Full of history and spirituality, Nanded is a must-visit city in Maharashtra. Its Gurudwaras, forts, and scenic surroundings attract visitors year-around. Whether you seek heritage or peace, Nanded promises an enriching experience. With origins in the Vedic period, Nanded holds an important place in both Maratha and Sikh history. As the sacred site where Guru Gobind Singh ji spent his last days, it remains as a city of deep reverence and evolving tourism.

I didn't know what to expect when I planned a trip to Nanded, but this city turned out to be a true revelation. Known as the "City of Gurudwaras" and "City of Sanskrit Poets, " this city in Maharashtra's Marathwada region effortlessly blends sacred tradition with modern progress.

Renting a Car in Hyderabad to Visit Nanded made the journey incredibly convenient for me. The scenic road trip gave me the chance to stop by local eateries, hidden temples, and green stretches that truly set the tone for the spiritual experience that awaited.

The visit to Hazur Sahib, where Guru Gobind Singh Ji spent his last days, was humbling and unforgettable. It felt like the entire city revolved around devotion and peace.

I learned that Lord Shiva is said to have meditated here, and I could sense that depth of mythological energy while sitting near the Godavari River. Plus, Nanded is more than just temples and tales, the street food scene is buzzing, and boat rides on the river offer unexpected joy. There's a beauty in every corner of this city, from granite cliffs to limestone valleys, from spiritual chants to the sizzle of street food.

One of my favorite parts about Nanded was how every occasion becomes a celebration. Whether it's Holi, Raksha Bandhan, or Diwali, there's always something happening. I was lucky to catch glimpses of Ganesh Utsav and Bakrid celebrations, where the streets lit up with joy and devotion.

Although Gurta Gaddi only happens once a century, just being near the Hazur Sahib where it's celebrated gave me goosebumps.

Road trip to Nanded from Hyderabad by rental car gave me the flexibility to explore local markets at my own pace.

As I wandered the local markets, I picked up handmade textiles and watched artisans painting Warli patterns on wooden trays. What's amazing is how these traditions have been passed down for generations. And the language diversity here blew my mind. From Marathi and Hindi to Sindhi, Punjabi, and Deccan Urdu, Nanded is truly a cultural tapestry.

You wouldn't expect a small spiritual city to offer such diverse shopping options, but Nanded does! Walking through the markets felt like diving into its culture. From handmade Bidri work to unique sword shops influenced by Sikh heritage, there's so much to explore. I picked up a beautiful warli painting and a souvenir sword from one of the Sikh-themed stores.

Also don't miss Mata Guruji Shopping Complex if you're into retail therapy with a local twist.

There's something about eating local food surrounded by locals, listening to stories and soaking in the heritage. The rice-based dishes are clearly the stars here, but don't miss the local drinks at Tuljai or the Chinese fusion plates at Shyam. What really stood out to me was how the city's communities have kept their food culture so alive and proud.

Planning a Nanded trip with a car rental from Hyderabad made this immersive journey possible and smooth. It gave me the freedom to explore the city deeply and on my own terms. Nanded is a place that stays with you—not just for its sights, but for its soul.

At the end of the trail

Exploring Nanded felt like flipping through a living history book with a modern-day twist. One moment I was standing in a centuries-old fort, and the next I was sipping cold coffee in a sleek cafe. It's a city where tradition guides the spirit and modernity caters to the heart. Whether you're a pilgrim or a curious traveler, this place leaves you richer.
